Lake Texcoco
The Aztecs found a home on an island in the middle of Lake Texcoco. This was an ideal location because there were only a few entrances and it was easily defend-able.

Island Living
The center of the capital city of Tenochtitlan was beautiful! They had people sweeping the streets daily to keep the city clean. They also had torch lit paths at night for people to walk around and enjoy the city.
Chinampas
The Aztecs made good use of space by creating floating gardens in the lake. These gardens were called Chinampas, which essentially make their island and living space larger.
